Drivers’ Schools and Insurance
When you attend a drivers’ school sponsored by an Audi Club of North America chapter the only insurance that may cover you and your car is your own insurance. Most, if not all, policies exclude coverage for racing and other type of timed events such as autocross and time trials.
Some polices also exclude coverage for any event that takes place on a race track regardless of the type of event. The only way to know what your policy covers is to read your policy. My experience shows that asking your insurance agent rarely gets you the correct answer. Most often the agent will say you are not covered without checking what the policy actually says.
If you determine that you are not covered by your current insurance policy there is another option. You can purchase insurance that specifically covers you at drivers’ schools.
